5. Surf Trailer

Y-Surf trailer

Go surfing but leave your car at home. With a Y-Surf you can cycle, with your surf board and all the gear you need, to the beach and go on that epic ride. The unique rail design means that the board cannot be blown around by the wind and there is still space for all your gear as well.

Fits on a Y large trailer
Weighs 5 kg
Maximum trailer load 90 kg
Load on rails 20 kg
Wheel size 20”

Board size 2.2 meters with standard tow arm.

The carrying angle is adjustable so that the surf attachment can be adapted to carry a paddle board, kayak, ladder or cello. Long loads may need a longer tow arm.

Two projects using the Y surf:

Curves’n’Turns – See the blog entry: http://www.carryfreedom.com/de/curvesnturns-surfing-trip/

Don’t follow this bike – See Atila on his journey around New Zealand using a Carry Freedom Surf Trailer. Blog entry here: http://www.carryfreedom.com/de/attila-y-surf-in-new-zealand/

Hey, Guys — what’s your timeline on partnering with any US Dealers, particularly in New York City? I’m deciding between you guys and Wike and they’re up in Canada which makes things a bit more cost efficient.
    Thanks in advance,

      Hey Leif,
US Distribution is not far away, but the little details are now cleared up yet. Out trailers are urban lifestyle changers. We carry heavy, long and far. We have many expeditions using our trailers, check out Denis Katzer in the Blog section, Olaf Obsommer and his Kayak trip and the new Curves and Turns project. These are all people who are hitting the trailer hard, taking it to the limits. That is why we are convinced that Carry Freedom makes the best load trailers on the market. Thanks for listening. Bob.

Good to hear it Lukas! The film is great and we are looking forward to the final cut! The Surf Trailer will be out in 2015 with a height adjuster so that longer paddle boards can also be carried. Have a good trip. Bob

Please keep me posted on expected availability. Have a Y large that I am keen to fit with this.

Any options on kid carrier conversions for the y large in the pupeline?

      Hi Gary,
Thanks for our post. The surf trailer will only fit on the large so you are ready as soon as we get it together. Should be in early 2015. No plans for kids carrying with a carry freedom trailer. We don’t feel it’s our core market. Also the laws are very strict (as they should be!) and we would have to be more than certain before doing something like this. We are having fun carrying stuff right now. Just wait until you guys see the new LEAF! Stay tuned.

Just showed the sample at the Eurobike, will be finalizing the production very soon. Should be here early 2015. It will be available in our webshop or at good dealers. Thanks for your interest. Bob
