City 1
"Just to say a big thank you for making my holiday effortless.
I toured around the north of Scotland in september and into october
with the 'City' trailer hitched to my bike and if you know the Huntly,
Macduff and Gamrie area you will know just how hilly it is with inclines of 20%.
I reached a speed of 77km going down one of these hills with the 'City'
behaving like a dream!
You know how undecided I was in choosing the right trailer for my particular
needs, well, the City did everything and more.
I left my house in Orkney and caught a ferry to Aberdeen, unhitched and folded
the trailer and took it into the passenger lounge with me then unrolled the
sleeping bag and had a good night's sleep. The following morning a took a
train to Huntly, put my bike into a rack and, you guessed, folded the 'City'
and had it next to my seat.
Each B&B I stayed at the nicely folded 'City' came into my room with me, no
need to unpack what you think you may need once checked in as it' all there
with you.
After covering 250 miles of tough scottish roads it was time to head back home.
I thought about cycling to the ferry port of Scrabster which is near
John 'o' Groats but decided to 'take a bus' again with the 'City' trailer
along side me and the bike in the hold.
I now plan to tour a bit of Europe in the spring/summer so I shall fly to
wherever and pay the extra baggage for the bike, not so with the 'City'
that will go as MY luggage!
So, am I happy? you bet your boots I am, the functionality and build quality is superb.
Down side? should have bought one years ago. John.
City 2
"I brought a city trailer a few months
back and have been using it every day to take my stuff to work
and it's amazing. The quality of the build is awesome and I barely
notice I'm pulling anything. The hitch is pure genius not only does
it make the trailer easy to take on trains and take into buildings
with you, it moves so independently of the bike you can still ride
with no hands (not that I'm promoting reckless riding of course ;-) ).
I have never learnt to drive and I get the feeling I may never need to.
I can honestly say that the city trailer is the best accessory I have
ever brought for my bike, good stuff all round."
Cheers

City 3
"Just to say that I picked up the City towards the end of December
and have found that it has lived up to all expectations. Indeed,
the biggest problem is to remember that the trailer is actually being towed!
Folding and unfolding poses no problem, the lightness of the trailer is quite
remarkable, to be able to park the Brompton with the trailer in situ is
hugely convenient and the end on casters are a stroke of pure genius.
The only drawback is muck thrown up by the back tyre. To overcome this
when I have been running the City in damp weather I have placed the bag
inside a black bin liner and this has proved a simple and effective means
of keeping the bag clean (I'm working on the strap).
(Ed We are working on a mudguard to deal with this.)
Perhaps in addition to the bag, a moulded, easy fit, lidded plastic box,
might prove a useful avenue to explore. Let me know if you need a 'guinea pig'.
(Ed Boxes up to 60X40X40cm fit the City as standard,
see the gallery
for examples.)
Thanks for your help in providing the background information prior to purchase......
Sincerely
Tim Peacock"
City 4
"I have never written to any manufacturer before, but I have to tell you how
pleased I am with the City trailer I bought (from Wiggle) last week.
I am constantly looking for excuses to use it, and when I do use it I have
to keep checking it is still there (it is barely noticable). It is truly a
thing of practical elegance, as beautiful as a swiss army knife. I think my
girlfriend is beginning to worry about me, so I'd best not rave any more.
Thanks again,
Keith
PS two cons that I've noticed:
1. The price, but I shouldn't resent paying for a well made product
from a company that considers the ethics of its manufacturing.
2. The strap for the bag inevitably gets dirty - I wouldn't want to
risk using it with a smart jacket."
Why trailer s?
By James Lea, 9 December 2005 (Ed James owns a Y-Large).

"I sold my car three years ago, and haven't missed it once. Walking,
cycling, trains and buses are much better forms of transport, and allow me
to meet other people, or to relax and read a book. Avoiding the car massively
reduces my carbon footprint and is the ecologically responsible thing to do.
Beside which, I rather dislike cars - they fracture communities, increase
congestion and support the UK's absurd housing market by enabling people to
live miles away from where they work.
However, despite restructuring my life so I don't need a car (which isn't hard),
there are still some occasions when I need to carry a heavy load around. For
example, I've recently taken on a vegetable plot on a field a couple of miles
away, and need to carry gardening tools, cardboard and newspaper for mulching
the ground, and when the harvest is ready, the vegetables back home.
The low-impact solution? A bike trailer!"

Y-Frame Review by Cycling Plus
BEST BUY
The Y-frame is cycling plus's Best Buy trailer.
Cas Gilbert reviewed our Y-frame trailer alongside the Burly Nomad BOB Yak
and Weber Monoporter.
C+ Review (30Kb)
But it's perhaps the Y-Frame
that's our overall winner, certainly when it
comes to road use. It handles extremely
well and is easy as pie to hitch. Best of all,
it's adaptable to a multitude of chores,
being light and rugged enough to be at
home as much as a utility workhorse as it is
shouldering your life belongings across the
far corners of the world.
Deceptively simple and elegantly effective,
the Y-Frame is the perfect introduction into
the world of load hauling.
City review by Velovision
A thorough test that leads to glowing praise from Velo Vision's Peter Eland.
Its worth noting that since the review the City's RRP has dropped to £250,
and there is now a collar to stop the non sliding wheel sliding.
Velovision Review (58Kb)
The City does what its designed for very well indeed. At the price and quality its almost too good for utility use: a cheap plastic box on wheels is perhaps more suitable for supermarket haulage. But as a high-value travel system to go alongside a quality folding bike it could prove very useful indeed. Space-strapped urbanites will also appreciate its folding qualities and nimble performance.
